MANIFESTO
AKRO MEANS ADDICT. EVERY ADDICTION HAS A SCENT.
At Akro, every fragrance begins with an addiction, a craving, a ritual, a pleasure we instinctively return to.
The first coffee of the day. The irresistible sweetness of a lemon cupcake. The excitement of travelling somewhere new. A rose macaron enjoyed without occasion. The quiet ritual of afternoon tea. The richness of dark chocolate. Endless summer days. The calm of nature. The energy of a night out. The warmth of intimacy. Tobacco lingering in the air. The unmistakable scent of cannabis. The thrill of chili. The indelible trace of ink on skin. The warmth of whisky lingering on the lips. The simple joy of feeling happy.
Akro is dedicated to those scents. The olfactory addictions we return to instinctively, not because we need them, but because they have become part of our lives.
Each fragrance captures one of these invisible attractions, translating a familiar emotion into contemporary fine fragrance.
“The Idea for Akro came from a very simple obsession: our little everyday addictions. Morning coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, sugar… They are universal pleasures, sometimes guilty ones, but deeply human. I wanted to translate them into fragrance, without judgment, with sincerity.”
THE ORIGINS
ROOTED IN GRASSE. SHAPED BY LONDON.
Akro was born between two worlds: the heritage of Grasse and the energy of London.
For Olivier Cresp, fragrance has always been instinctive. Raised in Grasse, in a family of perfumers, he grew up surrounded by exceptional raw materials and generations of savoir-faire, before becoming one of the defining Master Perfumers of his generation.
For his daughter Anaïs, inspiration came from somewhere else. Living in London, immersed in its creative energy and nightlife, she became fascinated by the rituals and desires that shape our everyday lives. The first coffee of the morning. A cigarette after dark. A favorite bar. A night that goes on longer than planned.
The things we return to. The things we crave. Our addictions.
Together, Anaïs and Olivier began translating these impulses into scent, combining the precision of French perfumery with the freedom and attitude of contemporary London.
A new kind of fragrance house emerged: personal, instinctive and unapologetically modern. Turning everyday addictions into perfumes.
That house became Akro.
BY OLIVIER CRESP
THE VISION OF A MASTER PERFUMER.
Few perfumers have influenced modern perfumery as profoundly as Olivier Cresp.
A multi-award-winning Master Perfumer and Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, Olivier has spent more than three decades creating fragrances that have become modern classics.
Often referred to as the “King of Gourmands”, his influence extends far beyond the category that first defined his reputation. From radiant Mediterranean aromatics to elegant florals, refined woods and the gourmand creations that helped redefine an entire olfactive family, his work is united by one constant: the ability to translate emotion into unforgettable fragrance.
For Olivier, perfume is never simply about ingredients or technique. It begins with emotion.
“A fragrance becomes unforgettable when it creates an emotional connection. Technique matters, but emotion is what stays with us.”
That philosophy has guided his work throughout his career and lies at the heart of Akro.
Created with Anais Cresp, Akro is Olivier’s most personal expression – a house of olfactive addictions where the heritage of Grasse meets the energy of London, and where everyday addictions become extraordinary fragrances.
